Education & Teaching Career
B. K. S. Inan graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) in 1986. Beginning in 1987, he embarked on a distinguished teaching career at private universities in Dhaka and is currently teaching at BRAC University. Notably, he pioneered the formal teaching of CAD in architecture in Bangladesh, introducing computer-aided design to generations of students.

Architectural Practice & Academic Influence
As an architect and educator, Inan has made significant contributions to both design and architectural pedagogy in Bangladesh. His dual expertise in architecture and digital design has shaped the curricula and capabilities of emerging architects across the country.

Photography Career
Inan’s journey in photography began in 1966, well before his formal involvement in architecture. Over decades, he built a reputation as a respected architectural and documentary photographer, receiving commissions from institutions such as the Institute of Architects Bangladesh, Bashirul Haq & Associates, Eastern Housing Ltd., Beximco, and even the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
He has exhibited his work widely—nationally at venues like Shilpakala Academy, Institute of Fine Arts, Alliance Française, BPS, and Third Eye, and internationally in France, Spain, Italy, and Japan. His imagery has also appeared in the publication Contemporary Architecture in Bangladesh and he contributed to A Journey Through Bangladesh alongside Anwar Hossain.

Role in the Bangladesh Photographic Society (BPS)
Inan has been deeply involved with Bangladesh Photographic Society, serving as an advisor and contributing over many years to its programs and direction. He is also a founder member of influential photography collectives such as Creative Photographers and Third Eye, both closely associated with BPS initiatives.
Within BPS, he regularly conducted workshops, judging sessions, and exhibitions, mentoring photographers and promoting photography as a serious art form.
